Pakistan Vs Zimbabwe 14/09/2013 – Results, Review and Statistical Highlights

The second test match of the Haier Cup between Pakistan and Zimbabwe held between 10th to 14/09/2013 kicked off with Zim winning the toss and electing to bat first.  It was a good positive decision by Zim considering the pitch was under prepared.  Pak on the other hand were looking for another win to get their hands on the trophy.  Read on for the complete  Pakistan Vs Zimbabwe 14/09/2013 Results along with the batting and bowling performance review and Statistical Highlights of the match.

Statistical Highlights

The Highlights of Zimbabwe’s first innings were Hamilton Masakadza and Brendan Taylor who made scores of 75 and 51 respectively.  They had a minor collapse as their middle order didn’t make that many runs but their lower order batsmen Propser Utseya, Tinashe Panyangara, Tendai Chatara, Brian Vitori made up for it as they made a score of 22, 24, 21 and 19* respectively to help them reach a score of 294 on a pitch which was very tough to bat on.  As far as Pakistan’s bowling was concerned Junaid Khan and Abdur Rehman were the pick of their bowlers as they picked up 4 and 3 wickets respectively.
Cricket

When Pakistan came into bat during their first innings, they were trailing by a score of 294 set by Zim.  The best highlights of their batting were Khurram Manzoor, Younis Khan and Misbah-Ul-Haq who scored 51, 77 and 33 respectively.  Unfortunately there were not many others who contributed which resulted in them ending their innings at a score of 230 which gave Zim a healthy lead.  As far as zimbabwe’s bowling was concerned, Brian Vitori and Tinashe Panyangara were the pick of their bowlers as they took 5 and 3 wickets respectively.

Zimbabwe started their second innings at a very healthy lead which meant Pak needed to ensure they wrapped things up quickly if they needed to have a strong hold on the results of the match.  Zim only managed a score of 199 with their best highlights being Tino Mawoyo and Hamilton Masakadza making a score of 58 and 44 respectively.  As far as Pakistan’s bowling during the second innings was concerned, Rahat Ali picked up 5 wickets.

When Pakistan came into bat during the second innings, they had a score of 264 to reach.  Apart from Khurram Manzoor and Misbah-Ul-Haq who made a score of 54 and 79, none other was even able to make a decent contribution. Pak ended up losing the match by 24 runs with the best bowler from Zimbabwe being Tendai Chatara who took 5 wickets.
