Australia Vs England 2013 – 1st Ashes Test, Brisbane – Results, Review and Statistical Highlights

Statistical Highlights

CricketWhen Australia came in to bat during their first innings, they had a torrid time as Stuart Broad was all over them but fortunately for them a good partnership between Brad Haddin and Mitchell Johnson ensured they got a decent total towards the end.  England’s first inning started off on a stronger note but collapsed quite quickly as none of their batsmen seemed to have any answer to Mitchell Johnson. They were bundled out for a score of 136.

When Australia came into bat in second innings a brilliant partnership between David Warner and Michael Clarke (Both of whom made a good century) ensured they reached a massive total of 401 thereby setting a target of 561.  From here on in the match looked to be slipped out of the hands of the Englishmen.  England’s batting in the second innings was as disappointing as in the first as they were bundled out for 179 giving the aussies a win by 381 runs.
